What is the difference between textile and hard substrate sublimation?

The basic printing technique.

Both use sublimation inks, sublimation paper, a heat process, and pressure.

Important items are:

  • Inkjet dot size
  • The ink system
  • The sublimation paper
  • The temperature and pressure of the heat press. This becomes even more critical with large format printing to avoid color and density variation across the print.

Please read our section on suitable printers and heat presses for hard substrate sublimation.
